Insignia® 50" Class, 720p, 600Hz, Plasma HDTV

A widget offered on price of USD 650 with a 2-year warranty from Best Buy. Although, couldn't beat price anywhere for a comparable TV. 720p screen is basically similar to 1080p. Unless juxtapose 1080p TV, with a 720p, it is difficult to differentiate both. The Blue rays of this series look very fine.

The sound is surprisingly fine. Almost all TV's appears to have fairly weak sound without a surround system but this has a pretty decent sound system, if you will get then you will truly experience this fact.

Picture quality is very good although scenes that are dark or shadowy are difficult to make out. Could use a better separation of the blacks, not sure that's where contrast ratio factors in? But overall not a big deal, you can enjoy it very much by its performance either. This series has sufficient inputting components, as you may need during its use.

Interestingly, in case you don’t chase any specific brand name, then this TV is for you. The quality is great and the sound is satisfactory. About its sound, you may need to lower its sound. Don't get fool with the 1080p vs 720p difference.

If this is the only TV series in your house, how you have to compare? Picture quality is great even with a Blue ray player, yet it’s a matter of affordability.

The image is great at the first glance.  It has some hitches either, like The Discovery Channel logo in the bottom right corner as well as the words "Fox4 Closings" on the right side. The Fox4 issue was present after watching 1 hour of news while they were broadcasting school and church closings due to weather.

Virtually, new plasmas still suffer from instances of burn in. You can exchange its with 47in Insignia LCD. Hopefully it will work out better."
