HP Photo smart D7460

HP has come up with a latest model printer that is dubbed as HP Photo smart D7460 that adds some new features like an inkjet color photo printer. Its measurement properties are like Width 18.2in, Depth 19.7in, and Height 9.3in, Weight 17.6lbs and lends a desktop type design. It adds Touch and 3.5in preview screens as built-in widgets. This series of printer is offered by HP on USD 180.

D7460has both form of connectivity tech i.e. Wired and Wireless where interfaces are USB, 802.11g, Ethernet. Its Language Simulation is PCL 3 GUI. It has HP Thermal Inkjet tech with 6ink palette where ink tech is HP Vivera Inks. It has 6 in1 card reader with 64MB installed RAM. It lacks copier/scanner, telecom modem.

The Printer features Borderless printing with HP Auto Red-eye Removal as photo enhancement feature and has Direct Printing specifications from PictBridge. Its Maximum Resolution for B/W is 1200dpi by 1200dpi whereas for color, it is 4800dpi by 1200dpi. The device Printing Speed is up to 34 pages/min for Black draft in Legal (8.5in by 14in) and up to 33 pages/min for Color draft in Legal (8.5in by 14in).

D7460 Monthly Duty Cycle is 3000 pages and has 6 cartridges. It handles Cards, Labels, Envelopes, Photo paper, Plain paper and Transparencies as printing media. It has 1 auto load feeder which loads 100 sheets of Legal size (8.5in by 14in) where output tray capacity is 50sheets.

The media sizes are Letter A Size 8.5in by 11in, Legal 8.5in by 14in, Executive 7.25in by 10.5in, Photo paper 4in by 6in, 5in by 7in, and 8in by 10in, Panoramic 4in by 12in, Borderless Photo 8.5in by 24in. The envelope size is US no 10 and Cards /Labels are of card size.

The OS required are Apple Mac OS X 10.4, Apple Mac OS X 10.3.9, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows 2000 SP3, Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Microsoft Windows XP Professional.

D7460 contains print serving network with Ethernet, IEEE 802.11g. It has USB port, Ethernet port, PictBridge port peripheral/interface devices. The Connections include USB, 1Hi-Speed USB-RJ-45-4 pin USB Type B, 1Direct print port 4 pin USB Type A, 1 Network.

Miscellaneous with D7460 includes ink cartridges (1Black 16 ml, 1Cyan, 1Magenta, 1Yellow, 1Light cyan, 1Light magenta Ink cartridge each of 4.5 ml), Drivers and Utilities, Microsoft Certifications, 1 year limited warranty on parts and labor and phone consulting technical support. It has an external power adapter of AC 120/230V where power consumption during operation is 5Watt.
